Snyder Succumbs; Rites Set Monday
     
OROFINO, Idaho - Amos J. Snyder, 79, died of cancer Thursday night at the Clearwater Valley Hospital. He had retired several years ago as Clearwater County weed supervisor.
     Born May 23, 1886, at Harmon, W. Va., he moved with his family to Upper Fords Creek in 1897.
     As a youth he worked with his father hauling freight to Pierce. He later farmed and logged in the Ford's Creek area, then became county weed supervisor.
     In addition to his widow, Leola, he is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Alma Manful and Mrs. Winifred Phillips, both of Orofino; three sons, Fred and Alfred, Orofino, and Leonard, Ahsahka; five sisters, Mrs. Bertha Michael and Mrs. Harold Pasila, Orofino; Mrs. Lottie Ball, Pierce and Mrs. Vida South and Mrs. Anna Taplin Clarkston; 18 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
     The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Gilbert's Chapel, Orofino.
